If you have a gemstone you’d love to wear as a pendant, then this tutorial is for you. Learn a method to secure the gemstone by wire wrapping (no hole necessary), and beautify it with techniques to create a unique pendant.
This tutorial includes 28 steps of clear instructions (English) with related photos, and specifically covers how to make the Green Jade Pendant shown. The other pendant examples in the images utilize this base method of securing the gemstone, but show some variations to the decorative part. Once you’ve learned the technique for securing the gemstone, there are endless designs you can create with this structure.

– 2 pieces 15 in (38 cm) Half-hard 18-gauge Wire
– 6 ft (183 cm) 28-gauge Wire
– Gemstone measuring no less than 3/4 in x 3/4 in (1.9 cm x 1.9 cm), and no more than 2 in x 2 in (5 cm x 5 cm), ideally with a flat side
– Flush Wire Cutters
– Round-Nose Pliers
– Chain-Nose Pliers
– Nylon Jaw Pliers
– Chop Stick (evenly round), or similar 1/4-in (6 mm) diameter Dowel
