Festi-fall Arts & Crafts Show in Pompano Beach

South Florida Events: Festi-Fall Arts & Crafts ShowIt’s always exciting to welcome Fall.  To me it feels like the dawn of a new year, probably because my birthday is at the beginning of September.  It feels like a time for change, and the hope that perhaps one day, the temperature in Miami will drop below 75 degrees at night.  Yes, there is a feeling crispness in the humid air….or maybe it’s just in my bones.  Because my internal seasonal clock that spent the first twenty-something years of life in NY says so.

So I am celebrating by taking A. Nicola jewelry’s first public debut to a festively autumnal show in Pompano Beach on Saturday, September 27th.  It will assuredly be a great business/learning experience for my pieces and I.

If you’re like me, and you’re starting to poke around for some great South Florida events to attend in the upcoming season, the Festi-Fall Arts & Crafts Show in Pompano is a great place to get started.  It’s like a season kick-off…or whatever they call it in sports…

Jewelry pieces in the antiquing stage.

What’s more, I am unleashing a good lot of new jewelry designs that I was busily wrapping all summer long (in my A/C).  Here’s a little preview of the many pieces I’ve worked on, just after their bath in liver of sulphur, and brushed down with steel wool and dish soap.  This is the antiquing stage.  From here, the outer areas are to be polished, building highlights.  Antiquing creates contrast by darkening the crevices, and then polishing brightens the outer areas. This process accentuates the many hours of fine crafted wire-wrapping details in each piece.

I hope you will stop by the show, and see my work in person.  The holidays are nearing, so arts and crafts shows are great for finding unique gifts.  You don’t want to get stuck buying your mother-in-law another “It’s Better in the Bahamas” T-shirt for the holidays this year, do ya?
